Native of Saint-Hilaire village in New Brunswick, Yves Landry is drawn to showbiz and stage technique. From a young age, he took a great interest in it. He found success in his twenties as a disc jockey. Later, he joined the performing arts to become a stage manager and floor technician, lighting designer, technical director, and much more. Versatility is one of his predominant personality traits.
In 2010, at the age of 39, Yves was diagnosed with a very advanced cancer that greatly shook his life. During his convalescence and facing a very uncertain future, he tries to take stock of his life, embarks on a search to find his true self and his true purpose. It is a very painful yet crucial period of his life. The following year, he decides to embark on new life projects and to rediscover his artistic side that he had kept hidden for too long. It is by randomly getting into circus training that he discovers that his physical, kinesthetic, artistic, and spiritual sides are in perfect harmony for the very first time in his life. It's a rebirth, a new beginning, a whole new chapter of his life that is starting. Never would he have believed that one day, circus arts would become such a great passion for him! Circus saved his life!
In 2011, he joined the Circus Stella troupe from Dieppe, New Brunswick as a stilt walker. In 2012, he began recreational training with the opening of a circus school in Moncton. From then on, Yves experiences explosive progress and success, and in a very short time, he becomes a professional artist. Since 2017, he has been based part-time in Montreal, one of the major hubs of circus arts in the world, to train professionally, collaborate, create, and perform among the elite circus artists in the field. Yves now adds: circus artist, to his skill set, which includes disciplines such as: stilt acrobatics, aerial silk, dance trapeze, aerial straps, aerial rope, and slackline.
It is through his passions, his new art, and with his story that Yves now wishes to convey his joy of living:
