Les Belles Bêtes (The Beautiful Beasts) collective was founded in 2007 aiming to develop live shows in which artistic crafts are mixed and transcended to put forward a certain Art Total. Les Belles Bêtes are interested by the realm of travelling shows, and particularly by the fairground freaks, as well as musical soundscapes, contemporary or classical instrumentation, and a wide range of musical genres.
Those Belles Bêtes, talented instrumentalists, are exploring, through music, human deformity (dwarfism, gigantism, half-human half-animal creatures, genetic deformities), connection to others (proximity, dependence, complicity), or to the body (obesity, femininity, masculinity, gender ambivalence). Thus, various characters stemming from imaginary worlds stroll, always in rhythm, in music, with theatrical, dance and circus skills.
