Lauriane Houle is a Montreal based movement artist. Trained in kung fu, general circus and artistic cycling, they are expanding their horizon with Concordia University’s bachelor in contemporary dance. In the meantime, Lauriane has been a working street art performer, specializing in full-body puppets on stilts. They are working with Les Chasseurs de rêve, Cirque Hors Piste and Bazar Production, amongst others. Outside of their stilts, they have been working on their own collective, with friends, La Caravane à Pied and have booked over 10 performances in their first year, including clown solos. Lauriane is actively working on their very first acrobatic cycling act, to be presented in the summer 2025. Their work is inspired by physical theater, acrobatic research, the devastating state of the world and a pure desire for community and joy. After performing in France for the Festival Mondial des Théatres de Marionnettes in 2023 and winning Rookie of the Year for Montreal Bike Polo in 2024, Lauriane immerses themselves into a deeply multidisciplinary and curious movement practice, hoping to broaden the contemporary performing arts sector, opening space for atypical artists.
