Hugues Sarra-Bournet

Hugues Sarra-Bournet studied at the École de cirque de Québec before refining his generalist training at the National Circus School of Montreal. As an acrobat-actor, he has participated in numerous productions, including  and Le royaume de tôle (Cirque du Soleil), Devant moi, le ciel and Ceux qui n’existent pas (DynamO Théâtre), LignedeBus(Théâtre I.N.K), and Crépuscule – Raviver les braises (Flip Fabrique).

In 2015, he co-founded the trio Moi et les autres, whose Russian bar act won the Audience Award and a silver medal at the 37th Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain.

As a solo artist, he presented his tramporampe acrobatic act Espresso! in 2012 at the Planetary Carnival of Circus Stage Direction in St. Petersburg. The act was also broadcast on La vie est un cirque and Le plus grand cabaret du monde.

His career has been marked by various clowning performances (Duo Hugues et Lysanne, Cirque Prom, Les Vitaminés, Octave). In 2022, his dedication to this discipline was recognized when he won the Frankie Award for Outstanding Clown Show at the Montreal Fringe Festival for his solo show Mario a un incroyable talent.

In 2023, Hugues joined the roster of artists at the Fondation Dr Clown and continues to tour his one-man show, notably at the Montreal Clown Festival.
