THE PUBLIC WAY

La voix publique

A film by Guillaume Audet

In the street, art is an open conversation. It questions, challenges and amazes. La voix publique takes us to the heart of street art in Quebec, through 28 interviews with professional artists, excerpts from open-air shows and spontaneous exchanges with the public.

How do you capture the attention of passers-by and turn them into spectators? What kind of dialogue is established between the work and the crowd? What is the true impact of these ephemeral performances? This documentary gives a voice to those who, every day, invest public space to create links, arouse emotions and provoke reflection.

Directed by Guillaume Audet and supported by the CaméRAR initiative of the Regroupement des arts de rue du Québec, La voix publique is a fascinating dive into a discipline where the city becomes a stage and art belongs to everyone. An essential reflection on the role of the artist in the public space and the place of the spectator in this unexpected encounter.
